Google is trying to challenge OpenAI with the launch of Gemini 3
Gemini 3 is better than its predecessor at processing information from different formats and putting the data offered to the user into context.
ChatGPT holds the distinction of being the most widely used large language model (LLM) in the world (largely because it was a pioneer in the field of AI). However, Google wants to dethrone OpenAI and its renowned ChatGPT, and with this goal in mind, it unveiled Gemini 3 yesterday.
The new AI model from the American multinational boasts being its most powerful to date. Among Gemini 3’s wide range of «superpowers,» its ability to generate interactive graphics to effectively illustrate scientific answers or the resolution of mathematical problems stands out.
In addition to the web and the app, Gemini 3 is now available in Google Search’s «AI Mode.» It surpasses its predecessor by processing information from different formats (video, image, text, or audio) and contextualizing the data provided to the user. When watching a game of «pickeball» through the Gemini 3 camera, it is perfectly capable, for example, of analyzing the behavior of specific players on the field and also providing them with advice for better performance on the pitch.

Google’s revamped AI model, which boasts PhD-level reasoning, can also translate recipes from photographs and then create a perfectly organized cookbook. It’s equally capable of designing detailed itineraries for visiting Rome over several days (something that other competitors in the AI arena already do, however).
Gemini 3 also debuts a brand-new tool called Antigravity, which allows developers to create code while seeing how different parts of the code are applied in real time, making it easier to find potential bugs. Antigravity allows developers to use and monitor multiple AI agents simultaneously for the ultimate goal of writing code.
According to the latest figures published by Google, Gemini has approximately 650 million monthly active users. This figure, while substantial, is considerably lower than ChatGPT’s more than 800 million weekly users.
Gemini, however, has the advantage that its parent company, Google, is deeply embedded in the daily lives of millions of people worldwide through its eponymous search engine and tools like Gmail.
When searching for information online, Gemini 3 has also improved its efficiency, better understanding the intent behind each user query in order to provide truly relevant information.
